About My Assistant

My assistant is there for me everyday of every week. He listens to my complaining without any judgment and he knows how important it is to leave the work on the table and just play every once in awhile. My personal assistant is a rescue puppy named Petey! Although we’re not 100% sure what kind of dog he is, many “dog” people, including veterinarians think that Petey is a miniature goldendoodle.

Petey came into our lives in September of 2011. He was SO tiny and just a white ball of fluff 🙂 We found out that he only                                                                                                                                            weighed four pounds and enjoyed taking showers or baths. The first bath Petey had went well. I gave it to him by myself and he was just great! And under that bright white fur was the softest, smoothest pink skin!  He had my heart forever after that.

Fast forward a few months and Petey takes on a lot of tasks in my “office” – wherever that might be. He likes to think that he’s my guard dog, but mostly he barks at cars on the street or the trees blowing in the breeze 🙂 Petey also serves as my personal motivator. I love seeing how happy the little things can make Petey and I try to remind myself of this while writing. I am so happy for everything in my life and a bit of writer’s block won’t get in my way for any extended period of time. Finally, Petey is my therapist. I really do talk to this little ball of fur about everything. He lays his head on my lap and perks his ears up for Mommy to whisper a story or cry.

I am so thankful for Petey and he inspires me to keep the working going on my blog. I like to think that I’ve made this little sweetheart happy. Petey was adopted through a rescue agency and we really couldn’t ask for a more perfect pup. Please consider rescue dogs as an option.  You can check out http://www.petfinder.com for more information on adopting animals from your area.
